eGovPH Super App is your single gateway to government services

The DICT's vision for a seamless, decentralized online government platform for all Filipinos

At a glance

  • The eGovPH App aims to integrate services from multiple government sectors into a single online system, making it easier for citizens to complete various transactions without having to visit multiple websites or offices.

  • The latest update includes a VaxCertPH integration that allows users to access their vaccination records directly within the app. Additionally, the Health Center Locator feature helps users find health facilities near them, complete with directions through Waze or Google Maps.

  • Philhealth members can now monitor and check their contributions in real-time directly from the eGovPH app, enhancing transparency and convenience.

  • According to DICT Usec David Almirol, the data within the app is decentralized, meaning no single government entity has access to all the data. The Super App uses a single sign-on (SSO) system to connect to various government agencies securely.

  • The app has the potential to greatly benefit people in remote or underprivileged areas by enabling them to access essential government services without the need for expensive and time-consuming travel.

The eGovPH App, also known as the e-Government Philippines Super App, is a mobile application that simplifies transactions between the government and citizens. The app aims to become a one-stop-shop platform that integrates the multi-sectoral government through a single online system, minimizing economic costs for citizens.

The eGovPH App is now available for download on the App Store and Google Play Store. I have recently visited the DICT's eGovernment office and talked to DICT Usec David Almirol. He said that this app is still a work in progress where the aim is to integrate all vital government agencies into one single app.

I was surprised to see the latest update to the eGovPH app. With two new features, the health section now has VaxCertPH integration, where you can access your vaccination record directly from the eGovPH app without going to vaxcert.gov.ph. There is also a Health center locator that shows you a list of health facilities near you, with buttons to open Waze or Google Maps for directions.

Another useful new feature is the Philhealth integration. Philhealth members can now monitor and check their contributions directly from the eGovPH app and easily see if they are up to date.

The office of Usec Almirol is now working on integrating other government agencies into the Super App. This means that soon, users will be able to conveniently access all of their government IDs and other relevant documents from a single app.

I asked Usec Almirol about the app's security and whether the Super App has access to all of the data from these government agencies. He assured me that the data is decentralized and that no single government entity has access to all of the data. Instead, the Super App uses single sign-on (SSO) to connect to government agencies. SSO allows users to log in once and access multiple applications and websites without re-entering their credentials.

So, instead of going to vaxcert.gov.ph to see your vaccination card or to the Philhealth website to check your contributions, you can now open the eGovPH app, click the health button, and access all this information instantly.

Usec Almirol said that when fully implemented, the eGovPH Super App will offer a wide range of services that will be beneficial to Filipinos, including:

  • Government services: Pay taxes, renew licenses, apply for passports, and more.
  • Financial services: Pay bills, transfer money, and invest in government bonds.
  • Social services: Apply for government benefits, check your eligibility for social programs, and track the status of your applications.
  • Transportation services: Book train tickets, check bus schedules, and pay for parking.
  • Educational services: Enroll in online courses, check your grades, and pay tuition fees.
  • Healthcare services: Schedule appointments with doctors, check your medical records, and pay for hospital bills.

In short, the eGovPH Super App has the potential to become a one-stop shop for all of your government needs. It will make it easier for you to access essential services and save time and money.

The eGovPH app offers many benefits to users, including convenience, efficiency, transparency, and accountability.

Convenience: Users can access a wide range of government services in a single app from anywhere in the world. This saves them time and hassle, as they no longer need to travel to government offices or queue for long periods of time.

Efficiency: The eGovPH app streamlines the process of accessing government services. This makes it easier and faster for users to complete tasks such as paying taxes, renewing licenses, and applying for benefits.

Transparency: The eGovPH app allows users to track the status of their applications and payments in real-time. This helps to ensure that government services are delivered in a timely and efficient manner.

Accountability: The eGovPH app includes a feedback and rating system that allows users to hold government agencies accountable for the quality of their services. This helps to improve the overall quality of government service delivery in the Philippines.

After talking to Usec Almirol, I am excited about the potential of the eGovPH Super App to improve access to government services for people in rural and marginalized communities. Many people travel long distances to access government offices. This can be expensive and time-consuming. The eGovPH Super App could enable people in these communities to access government services from the comfort of their homes or barangays.

I'm looking forward to using the eGovPH app in its final version. It's still under development, as Usec Almirol said, but as I checked the plans of the eGovernment office for its integration with all relevant government agencies, I know it has the potential to make my life a lot easier. I can't wait to see how it develops in the future.
