Drag queen Sofia on mom Sexbomb Izzy Trazona: 'There's no point in protecting her...'

Drag queen Sofia, real name Andrei Trazona, has issued a response to the open letter his mother, Sexbomb dancer Izzy Trazona, posted on social media.

ON Facebook, Andrei admitted he "wasn't entirely truthful" in an interview regarding his mother being "supportive" about his activities as drag queen.

He wrote, "I LIED IN AN INTERVIEW that she supports (me) for what I am and for what I do just to protect her from any backlash but there's no point in protecting her because the truth came out straight from her..."

"As much as I love you, you know that I don't wanna live in a lie. I'm sustaining myself for years now and I am living responsibly honest. I'm tired of this conversation about me being gay and doing drag. I wanna end this argument by saying that 'I wanna live my own truth and someday you will be proud of what I will become.'"

Andrei concluded, "I love you so much mom but this isn't healthy for me anymore. I hope someday you will understand how it feels to be in my shoes. I miss you but you're not bringing me any comfort and compassion I deserve."

In another post, he expressed, "It’s like saying i love you because you’re my son but i don’t accept you for who you are."

In Izzy's viral post, she voiced longing for her son.

"I miss you Drei, you’re always in my prayer..every day. I love you so much. And that will never be changed," she assured.

According to her, disagreements between parents and children are normal. She understands that both sides carry pain in their hearts.

"Both have their own reason of what they are fighting for. I myself, experience being a daughter to my parents, I have a lot of things in mind to do, but my mom will keep on saying 'no,'" she shared.

"Of course sadness & hatred is what I felt, and later did I know, that she is just protecting me. Back then all I see is her angry face, but now I realized that it is LOVE. I thought that mom doesn’t want me to be happy, but she is just concerned that in the end of it all I won’t get hurt w/ my decisions."

Izzy recalled the time her son told her, “You’ll never know what I feel kasi you we’re never in my shoes.”

The former dancer agreed but reiterated that the same goes for her.

"Hindi mo parin naman nararanasan maging magulang. All I want is for your best. I'm holding on with the TRUTH that is written in the bible, the word of God. The One who created us," Izzy told Andrei.

"Nandon kasi ako sa ending ng lahat ng ito, Heaven & earth will pass but my words will not pass away(Matt 24:35)," she added.

"So if my children, the 4 of them, will do something that is against the faith that I have in Christ, that will I disagree. I point them to Jesus because with that I will be secured with their future. The best I know I can give to my children, more than richness, fame and all."

Izzy shared that she places her hope in what Jesus did on the cross for her.

"Paid the consequence of my sin. Instead of me paying it. Sin will bring me to eternal death, hell. But He saved me. By believing and surrendering my life to that truth," she related.

"Sino ba naman magulang ang gustong mapahamak ang anak? When all your motive is to save them sa mas masakit na pwede nilang maranasan. Ang buhay na wala si Kristo," she continued.

Izzy concluded her post, "Andrei anak, I love you so much to not support you on things that will harm you. I am always here for you…your mama, mahal na mahal kita."

The post quickly garnered mixed reactions.

Among those who shared their thoughts is first-ever Miss Trans Global, Mela Habijan.

She commented, "Hi Izzy! I’ve met Andrei/Sofia and your child is one of the sweetest young people I’ve met. In my encounters with Andrei/Sofia, I can see your kid's sincerity."

Mela expressed how painful it is for her to read the post.

"The most heartbreaking wound that all LGBTQIA+ kids can receive is knowing that our parents can’t accept us for who we truly are, and judges us for being LGBTQIA+ because they see our lives as 'ANG BUHAY NA WALA SI KRISTO!,'" she said.

"But one thing is for sure: LGBTQIA+ can live with Christ in our hearts, can live with kindness and love, can be our best selves."

Mela prayed that in time, Izzy would witness her child's greatness and consequently be proud of him.

"DAHIL MAGALING AT MABUTI SIYANG BAKLA! sparkling heart and rainbow emojis)," she emphasized.
