Parañaque Mayor Eric awards winners of cooking contest for mothers with malnourished children

Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez awarded the winners in the cooking contest for mothers with malnourished children, organized by the Nutrition Services Division in celebration of Nutrition Month.
 
Olivarez said the city government has prepared various activities in celebration of Nutrition Month every July.
 
He said the Nutrition Services Division prepared a cooking contest for mothers with malnourished children on July 27 at the Vallety 5 covered court in Barangay San Antonio.
 
The mayor said the cooking contest with the theme “Afforda Luto ni Mudra, Masarap at Massutansiyang Pagkain para sa Pamilya" was participated by six mothers who showed their skills in cooking affordable healthy dishes for their children.

Jennifer Sacapano of Barangay San Antonio was named the grand winner, while Shaira Loveria of Barangay San Dionisi got the first place, and Cris Crispino of Barangay Baclaran was the second placer.

The three other winners were Beatriz Guyo of Barangay La Huerta, Crstina Adorza of Baragay BF Homes, and Martin Rosio of Barangay Marcelo Green.

Aside from the awarding ceremony for the cooking contest, the mayor also gave recognition to City Nutrition Committee led by his wife, Mrs. Aileen Olivarez,  for bagging the Green Banner Seal of Compliance, the highest award for local government unit for effective programs on nutrition.

The mayor also recognized nutritionist dietitian Mr. Jun Kerbell R.
Reforma who was named first runner-up for the 2023  Regional Search for Outstanding City Nutrition Program Coordinator, and barangay nutrition scholar Erla R. Cortesta of Barangay San Antonio as finalist for Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar.

The awarding was held at the City Treasurer’s lounge during the regular Monday flag raising ceremony, July 31.
