Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez said a total of 517 students and out- of-school youths (OSYs) were chosen as beneficiaries of the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) during the launching of the program at Old San Dionisio gym on Wednesday, July 5.

Olivarez said the SPES program was launched in coordination with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Department of Labor and Employment-Muntiparlas Field Office.

He said the 517 SPES beneficiaries were from 16 barangays in the city aged 18 to 29 years old.

The mayor said the beneficiaries were students and OSYs who plan to enroll in the coming school year.

Olivarez said the beneficiaries will be deployed to different offices in the city
government for 30 days.

He said the SPES beneficiaries will be earning P570 daily up to July and will
increase to P610 daily starting July 15.

The mayor thanked the DOLE-Muntiparlas Field Office headed by Directoe Jun Castillon for their continuing coordination and support to local government units.

Olivarez said the SPES program will help students gain work experience which they can use as references in the future when applying for a job.
