Cops, Pagcor distribute food items to oil spill-affected families in Oriental Mindoro


The Police Regional Office 4B has distributed food items to the families affected by the oil spill in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro on Monday, June 19.

PRO4B director Police Brig. Gen. Joel Doria said the move is part of the continuing assistance to the families which lost sources of living following the oil spill that started with the sinking of an oil tanker on Feb. 28 off the waters of Naujan town. 

“The objective of the activity was to provide assistance to the affected families and alleviate their situation in the aftermath of the oil spill,” said Doria. 

“The Police Regional Office Mimaropa is committed to working hand in hand with partner agencies and stakeholders to provide the necessary assistance and support to those in need,” he added.

The activity was held in Barangay Poblacion of Naujan town in cooperation with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) and was spearheaded by the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division (RCADD) led by Police Lt. Col. Sonia Gaviana. 

Doria also expressed his gratitude to Pagcor for its support in providing assistance to the affected families.
