The program was launched after the signing of Executive Order (EO) No. 24 that created the Gender and Development Resource Center and EO No. 21 that reconstituted the Committee on Decorum and Investigation.

Department heads, mayors, officials from various government agencies, non-government organizations, and civil society organizations also signed the pledge of commitment to support the ArisGAD A program.

Aumentado, chair of the province’s GAD Focal Point System, said the launching of the program is meant to prevent gender-based violence and gender and sexual orientation discrimination in the workplace through responsive, updated, and enforced policies.

Collaboration with partnered agencies and associations on institutionalized and intensified advocacy and information campaigns will also help ensure the effective implementation of the program.

“We will work for equality and giving equal opportunity to everyone. We will promote inclusivity so we can achieve progress in our province,” Aumentado said.
