8 Apayao cops awarded for accomplishments


LUNA, Apayao – Eight police officers from the Apayao Provincial Police Office were awarded with Philippine National Police medals for their notable accomplishments during a simple program at Camp Elias K. Bulut Sr. and Training Center here on Thursday, May 11.

Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief, led the awarding ceremony during  a command visit and he was assisted by Police Col. Jefferson Cariaga, Apayao police director.

The Medalya ng Kagalingan (Medal of Merit) was awarded to Police Capt. Alex Pedling and Police Corporal Renato Osngay for the successful arrest of the No. 2 top most wanted person on the provincial level for rape in Conner, Apayao.

Police Capt. Thomas Cayom Jr. and Police Corporal Adolfo Alawin received the Medalya ng Papuri (PNP Commendation Medal) for the successful service of a warrant of arrest against an individual wanted for attempted homicide in Pudtol, Apayao.

The Medalya ng Papuri was awarded to Police Senior Master Sgts. Hensel Tuluan and Ira Lee Quirit for the successful surrender of Militia ng Bayan members under the Larangang Yunit Gerilya operating in Apayao and Cagayan in Santa Marcela, Apayao.

This medal was also bestowed to Police Staff Sgts. Mike Jordan Lingbawan and Pat Havey Duran for their relentless effort in the PNP anti-insurgency campaign that led to the surrender of a New People's Army member and  turnover of a homemade pistol with live ammunition in Pudtol, Apayao.
