National Artist for Film Superstar Nora Aunor has confirmed her personal appearance at the upcoming 7th World Class Excellence Japan Awards (WCEJA) 2023 which will be held at the New Otani Hotel, one of the posh hotels in the area, in Fukuoka, Japan on Oct. 30.
Ate Guy's confirmation happened during the April 2 episode of the weekly program of Asia's Princess of Songs, Emma Cordero, on her own YouTube channel along with her co-host Direk Obet Serrano and Baby Eliz Latoja.
Aunor said that she will attend the WCEJA's event to personally accept the highest recognition of the award-giving body - Golden Honor in the Field of Motion Picture. This will be the 11th event of WCEJA which started last 2016.
Prior, Direk Obet interviewed Ate Guy. They talked about how she started her career in the popular talent show "Tawag ng Tanghalan," where she used her "Golden Voice" to reach the ladder of success, so to speak, and to be where she is right now, as one of the prolific actors in this side of Tinseltown. She was then tagged by her legions of supporters as a superstar.
In the middle of their talk, Ate Guy also narrated how she lost her voice when she went to Japan several years ago.
Ate Guy also gave the viewers an update about her biography book.
"Hindi pa ito nasisimulan at nasa proseso pa nang pagkuha ng mga data about my personal life, mula nang ipinanganak ako hanggang sa manalo sa Tawag ng Tanghalan. Magkakaroon din ito ng pangalawa at pangatlong libro," she said.
Ate Guy admits that her journey is like a roller coaster ride. From thereon, she took the opportunity to thank the Lord for another life that she has right now. Unknown to many, Aunor had a near-death experience where the Lord gave her another chance to live.
At that moment, Emcor becomes emotional and teary-eyed because she can relate to the experiences of Ate Guy. In one way or another, they both shared the same path in their journey to success, from their struggling days in the industry to the top.
Aunor said that she immediately felt the sincerity and love coming from Emma when they first met personally at Mario's Restaurant in Quezon City.

"Si Ate Guy, nagsikap para makatulong sa pamilya and ganu'n din ako kaya in one way or another, halos pareho ang pinagdaanan namin.
"Sabi ng mother ko noon, ang kayamanan natin ay ang puso natin at ang pagmamahal natin sa kapwa, kaya maging positive lang lagi at maging masaya.
"Kaya talaga ako naging emotional kasi bukod sa na-nominate si Ate Guy sa WCEJA, tapos ito na nga, magkakaroon pa ng katuparan ang pagpunta niya through her commitment.
"Through WCEJA, pinagtagpo kami ni Ate Guy.
"Thank you so much, Ate Guy. Gusto ko lang mai-share sa lahat ang mga pangarap natin at dapat, maging totoo lang tayo lagi."
Aunor gave her commitment again to the event.
"Oo naman, okay ako, walang problema lalo na't nagkakausap na tayo tungkol diyan," she said.
In response, Emcor promised that she will accompany Ate Guy to different tourist spots in Fukuoka.
Emcor also invited Ate Guy to the upcoming WCEJA event in the Philippines to be held at the Heritage Hotel, Pasay on June 18.
"Sabihan niyo lang po ako at darating ako," Aunor answered.
Emcor continues to give support to students, especially to those who can present excellent grades from preschool to high school. Take note that three students are going to win scholarship grants.
Emcor's program is streamed live on Emma Cordero's official YouTube Channel every Sunday, at 4:30 p.m. (Philippine time).
