A Muntinlupa court has issued a warrant of arrest against former Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) director general Gerald Bantag and his deputy, Ricardo Zulueta, for murder.
The non-bailable warrant of arrest was issued on April 12 by Presiding Judge Gener Gito of the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch Branch 206.

“You are hereby commanded to arrest (1) GERALD QUITALEG BANTAG and (2) RICARDO SORIANO ZULUETA … who has/have been charged before me with the offense of MURDER (RPC [Revised Penal Code] ART. 248) and bring him/her/them forthwith before me to be dealt with according to law,” Gito ordered “any officer of the law.”
He added, “The bail for the release of the accused in this case is fixed at NOT BAILABLE for MURDER (RPC ART. 248).”
The Department of Justice charged Bantag and Zulueta with murder related to the death of inmate Jun Villamor, who allegedly hired a gunman to kill broadcaster Percival Mabasa, aka Percy Lapid.
