Kim MIngue

I am still pinching myself and slapping my face left and right. I still can’t believe I was chosen to host Kim Mingue’s fan meet this coming Friday. 

This is truly a “Heavenly Moment” for me to see in person the “Heavenly Idol”. Honestly, I have been watching Kim Mingue’s K- Drama entitled Heavenly Idol on Viu, a Korean content streaming platform. 

I was fascinated at first with the story—It’s about a High Priest (Pontifex Lembrary), who lives in a parallel universe from ours and is regarded by their beings to have the most powerful divine power ever. High priest Lembrary is played by Kim Mingue. While this holy man fights against a devil in their universe, he gets transferred to a different world—our world. 

The divine high priest then finds himself in the body of Woo Yeon-Woo,  a member of a struggling idol group called Wild Animal. The group has been together for 3 years, but can’t seem to become popular to the point that they are already on the verge of disbanding.  

After nine hours inside Woo’s body, High priest Lembrary is placed on a stage with Wild Animal for a live performance. When the music begins to play, the holy man  in Woo Yeon-Woo’s body, shouts out, "I don't know how to dance." 

The live broadcast performance is a disaster, but it attracts the attention of people and the media. With his charms, including the high priest’s confident attitude, Woo Yeon-Woo, still possessed by High Priest Lembrary's spirit, becomes popular and so does his group Wild Animal. The heavenly idol must now get used to life as a member of an idol group, and he faces various troubles, like dealing with weird religious groups and the devil.

Kim Mingue , prounounced Kim Min-kyu, is the perfect cast for High Priest Pontifex Lembrary. He is quirky, he knows how to act, and he has a good singing voice. Did you know that Mingue trained with Seventeen for about a month, but he quit because he preferred acting more than singing? But this idol can sing and can sing well.

I reviewed our script and Mingue prepared songs for his fans. I can expect screaming, crying, and more screaming from his fans and from me! I maybe everyone’s eonni , pronounced un-i, or big sister, but please forgive me if I cannot help fangirl or “fanmom” on Kim Mingue. In terms of appeal and charm, he is a ten! But do not worry, beloved fans of Kim Mingue, I am a professional host. I promise to conduct the show in the most professional, but the fun way that I can. We have prepared a great show for all of you—so many games and chances to hug your idol! Plus, you will truly be entertained by Kim Mingue!
