City of San Jose Del Monte set to hold plebiscite for division of barangay

The City of San Jose Del Monte (CSJDM) in  Bulacan is set to hold a plebiscite on Saturday, March 25, for the ratification of the division of Barangay Muzon into four separate and independent barangays.

In accordance with Republic Act No. 11896 or “An Act Dividing Barangay Muzon in the City of San Jose Del Monte, Province of Bulacan into four Separate and Independent Barangays To Be Known as Barangay Muzon proper, Barangay Muzon East, Barangay Muzon West, and Barangay Muzon South”, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) issued Resolution No. 10880 that states the date of the plebiscite for the ratification of the division of the barangay on March 25.

CSJDM officials said the division of Barangay Muzon into four separate and independent barangays is a crucial step toward promoting local governance and community development.

The move aims to enhance the delivery of basic services to the residents of each barangay and to promote more effective and efficient management of local affairs.

The CSJDM officials are inviting all the nearly 44,000 registered voters of Barangay Muzon to participate in the historic event.

The Bulacan Police Provincial Office, headed by Col. Relly B. Arnedo, assured the public that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure a smooth and orderly conduct of the plebiscite.

Around 130 police personnel will be deployed to secure the activity.

Col. Arnedo said their presence will ensure the safety and security of the voters and the integrity of the voting process.
