Old woman fatally struck by dump truck in Quezon

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – An elderly woman crossing a pedestrian lane in Barangay Ibabang Dupay here was fatally struck by a dump truck on Tuesday afternoon, March 7. Police said the victim, Rebecca Sagadsad, 79, a resident of Purok III-B, Barangay Dalahican, was ran over by the rear right double tire and went under the dump truck. The victim died from severe injuries in the head, upper, and lower parts of he body and responders from the Bureau of Fire Protection here extricated her. Driver Danie Ondovilla, 49, of Barangay Manggagawa, Guinayangan town, Quezon was taken into custody by Lucena police. Ondovilla faces a criminal complaint for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
