MB Daily News Update: Hunt on for Degamo slay mastermind


Updates on the assassination of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo have been coming in at a fast clip -- from the reported confessions being made by four arrested gunmen in the killing to authorities being hot on the trail of the murder.

Malacañang said only a handful of routes in Metro Manila was affected by the start of what will be a weeklong transport strike against the phase out of traditional jeepneys. Similar protest actions were also dismissed as failures in the provinces.

The 82-member Philippine contingent that was sent to render humanitarian work in earthquake-devastated Turkiye received incentives and awards.

Even with the summer months fast approaching, Metro Manila still logged its coldest day this “amihan (southeast monsoon)” season.
