'Hindi man lang kumahol': Teves theorizes that dog 'knew' Degamo's killers

Negros Oriental 3rd district Rep. Arnie Teves theorized on Monday, March 6 that the killers of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo were "known" to the people in the area where the latter was gunned down.

He cited the peculiar actions of at least one stray dog, as captured in a viral video of Degamo's assassination, to support his claim.

Degamo was leading a Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) distribution in Pamplona, Negros Oriental on Saturday morning, March 4 when unidentified men sprayed him with bullets. Five other people were also killed.

"Mayroon lang nakakapagtaka doon sa video. Bakit nakapasok or pinapasok nang ganun lamang yung mga tao, na sa aking sariling pag-aanalisa ay parang magkakilala sila nung nasa gate…siguro nakapasok ng wala man lang kahit konting resistance (There's something mysterious about the video. How were the killers able to enter that easily, or rather, how were they let inside. Based on my personal analysis, it's as if the people at the gate knew them, that's why they were able to enter with no resistance)," he said.

Teves added: "Mga netizens, ito ang pagmasdan ninyo at tignan niyo nang paulit ulit. Pati ang aso, kilala ang pumasok (Netizens, check this out and watch it repeatedly. Even the dog knew the intruders)."

"Bakit ko nasabing kilala? Tignan niyo yung aksyon ng aso dun sa video. Hindi man lang kumahol, kung hindi, kumawag pa ang buntot. Kumbaga parang kumakaway-kaway pa eh yung aso (How could I say that the dog knew them? Look at the actions of the dog in the video. It didn't even bark and instead wagged its tail. It's like the dog greeted them)," the veteran congressman explained.

"Isa o dalawang aso. Basta I'm sure there was one dog na kumawag pa ang buntot. Hindi man lang kumahol (Maybe one or two dogs. But I'm sure there was one dog that wagged its tail. It didn't even bark),"  stressed Teves.

He further said that the killing was accomplished despite the "many bodyguards" of the governor.
