Two persons died while two others were hurt in a fire that gutted a residential area on Kalayaan B, Brgy. Batasan Hills, Quezon City on Monday morning, March 6.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fatalities were a 50-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy.
The injured victims were a 48-year-old woman, who sustained first degree burns on her hands, face, right shoulder, and arms, and a man, 22 years old, who sustained abrasions on his right elbow and knee.
The BFP said that the fire was raised to the first alarm at around 6:58 a.m. and was declared under control at around 7:06 a.m.
The blaze was extinguished at around 8:15 a.m.
Authorities have yet to determine the number of families and houses damaged during the fire that caused around P25,000 damage to property.
The cause of the fire, which was reported to have originated from the kitchen of a house in the area, is still under investigation.
