Angono, Rizal Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon issued on Friday, March 3, an executive order that encourages public and private educational institutions to adopt online classes, and the private businesses and establishments to implement a work-from-home (WFH) scheme during the nationwide public transport strike starting Monday, March 6.

Mayor Calderon signed Executive Order No. 2023-10 calling for the suspension of face-to-face classes and advising schools to consider switching to modular or online classes during the duration of the transport strike from March 6 to March 12.

He also urged private firms to practice work-from-home program for their employees during the transport groups’ protest.

Calderon said the transport service disruption may affect not only those in the National Capital Region but also in areas covered by the Mega Manila which includes the Province of Rizal to which Angono belongs.

At present, public utility vehicles, both jeepneys and UV Express are plying Crossing-Angono-Binangonan route and vice versa; Sta. Lucia-Cainta-Taytay-Angono and vice versa; and Pasig-Angono and vice versa.
