ISABELA -- The movement of people and the transportation of goods and agricultural products here are expected to get easier soon, with the rehabilitation of Sta. Isabel Bridge in Isabela nearing completion.

The bridge serves as the main connector along the Ilagan-Delfin Albano-Mallig Road in the City of Ilagan, Isabela.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said that the project with a total cost of P7,347,954.85 is expected to be finished by June 27, 2023 or after 139 calendar days of work.

Included in the project is the construction of gabion 64.00 lane meters and reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings of 155.20 lane meters. (A gabion is a cage, cylinder or box filled with rocks, concrete, or sometimes sand and soil for use in civil engineering, road building, military applications and landscaping intended for erosion control).

With the rehabilitation of Sta. Isabel Bridge, residents and farmers can expect a smoother and safer travel experience.

The improved infrastructure will also enhance the economic activity in the area.
