TACLOBAN CITY – Two teenagers were killed in a collision between a pickup truck and motorcycle on the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Pupua, Catbalogan City, Samar on Sunday, Feb. 26.
Police identified the victims as motorcycle driver Rod Solayao, 18, and back rider Kathlyn Albos, 15, student.
Investigation said that the pickup truck driven by a non-uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) from San Jorge, Samar overtook another vehicle in a downhill portion of the road.
The pickup truck encroached on the opposite lane and struck the victims’ motorcycle. They victims were dragged for about 30 meters away from the point of impact by the pickup truck.
Responders found the victims dead then they arrived at the scene.
