Solon says EDSA revolt was 'traumatic' for PBBM; hails his gesture of reconciliation


Isabela 1st district Rep. Tonypet Albano praised President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. Saturday, Feb. 25 for "offering his hand of reconciliation" on the occasion of the anniversay of the 1986 EDSA People Power revolution despite the "trauma" that the latter suffered from the event.

"An example of a humble person who had the most traumatic experience with the Edsa revolution, and yet chose to use this painful past to unite and heal our nation… by offering reconciliation and bring harmony for a better, progressive, and united Philippines," Albano said of Marcos in a Facebook post.

"Mabuhay ka (Long live), Mr President BBM! ✌️" added the House deputy majority leader.

President Marcos is the son of the late former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

It was during the bloodless People Power revolution 37 years ago that former president Marcos Sr. was unseated and forced to leave the country with his family. He was replaced by the late former president Cory Aquino.

Marcos ran for the presidency in May 2022 and won via an impressive majority vote. He received over 31 million votes.
