Tour guide wanted for two counts of rape, acts of lasciviousness charges in Batangas arrested


BATANGAS -- A 56-year-old tour guide was arrested by police for two counts of rape and three counts of lascivious conduct on Wednesday morning Feb. 22 in San Juan town, this province.

Batangas Police Provincial Office (BPPO) report identified the suspect as Edelito Javier, a resident of the said town.

The warrant of arrest against Javier was issued on April 5, 2022 by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 87 in Rosario, Batangas.

The warrant was served by the joint operatives of Provincial Intelligence Unit-Batangas, Regional Intelligence Division 4A-Regional Intelligence Team Batangas, and 403rd-A Maneuver Company-Regional Mobile Force Battalion-4A around 9:45 in the morning of Wednesday.

Based on BPPO reports, the suspect allegedly raped the victim, then a Grade 8 student, sometime on Aug. 14, 2022, when the victim’s mother who is the suspect’s girlfriend, was not around.  

The report added that the crime started in 2018.

The suspect was tagged as the most wanted person at the regional level of Police Regional Office 4A.

Pedro Soliba.
