Malabon LGU distributes Ahon blue cards to families

Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval led the distribution of the Malabon Ahon Blue Cards to families in the city on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

Sandoval congratulated the 4,000 out of 94,000 heads of households who were given the electronic blue cards on Wednesday which they can use to access city government services. The event was held at the Malabon Sports Complex.

The distribution of the cards will be conducted until June, the city government said.

The Malabon Ahon Blue Card was launched in December 2022 as part of  Mayor Sandoval's goal to increase transparency and efficiency in delivering programs and social services, providing convenience to residents, and reducing the processing hours and corruption.

Residents can also get "ayuda" or help by using the cards, the city government said.

The Malabon City government partnered with the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) the Universal Storefront Service Center (USSC), an electronic money issuer which will be the prime contractor to provide the digital solution for the electronic cards, including a secure operating system, and helpdesk services.

“Every resident of Malabon deserves quality service and transitioning to digital technology will speed-up the service we provide as well as cut (the layers of) bureaucracy,” the mayor said.

She also encouraged families which are not yet registered to enlist for the blue cards.

The city government also launched on Wednesday the "TXTMJS" that will speed up the communication between the residents and the city government.

“TXTMJS reflects Mayor Jeannie’s comprehensive approach to improving her administration’s quality of service since she took office in July. The launch of this platform will enable every resident of Malabon to easily connect with the different departments under their local government,” Malabon  Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Head Roderick Tongol said.

The  city government said residents can type "TXTMJS<space>Keyword<space> their message"  and send to 225687 or 09176TXTMJS to connect to them.

Residents may type keywords such as MDRRMO, MCAT (Mayor's Complaint and Action Team), HEALTH (City Health Department), POLICE (Malabon City Police Station), FIRE (Bureau of Fire Protection- Malabon),  CSWDD (City Social Welfare and Development Department), ENGR (City Engineering Department), CENRO (City Environment and Natural Resources Office), and BPLO (Business Permit and Licensing Office). They must specify the other departments or offices not included in the keywords list.

Sandoval said her office is open to residents' suggestions in improving the delivery of services.

“My administration’s modernization initiative is aimed to bring about a community-centric local government. We are revolutionizing how each resident of Malabon can communicate with their local government and receive the support they need,” Sandoval said.
