If you haven't heard yet, Starlink, one of Elon Musk's companies, is now live in the country.
The announcement came from Starlink's official Twitter account, which Musk has recently acquired for $44 billion.
A single Starlink unit costs $599. That would be a one-time payment. Then a monthly subscription fee of $99 follows next. Normally those prices should be P32,945 and P5,500 respectively. But seems like price has been slightly tweaked for Filipinos.
Behold!
So, we will be getting anywhere from 50-200Mbps, for P2,700 a month, after an initial purchase of the Starlink unit worth P29,320.
It would take somewhere between two to three weeks of delivery before the hardware arrives. It should also be pointed out the hardware is self-installation. The Starlink website provides a tutorial how. After watching it myself, sure, looks easy. The Starlink hardware itself isn't some huge dish we typically see on TV.
Starlink is a Low Earth Orbit satellite, which provides internet connection instead from cables. This is sometimes seen as a solution for providing internet connection to remote locations with developing infrastructure.
