San Juan City, UERMMCI offer free acupuncture service to San Juaneños

The San Juan City local government and the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center College of Medicine (UERMMCI) are offering free acupuncture sessions to San Juaneños as they continue to expand their medical services to the public and share the benefits of acupuncture.

According to the city government, acupuncture is a type of alternative medicine that helps alleviate body aches such as back pain, neck pain, and joint issues. The method also promotes the physical and mental recovery of the patient.

Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine and a component of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in which thin needles are inserted into the body. A typical session entails lying still while approximately five to 20 needles are inserted. For the majority of cases, the needles will be left in place for 10 to 20 minutes.

The city government said the free acupuncture session will be every Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Barangay San Perfecto Health Center.

It urged those who want to avail of the session to book an appointment through the barangay's health worker as only eight clients can be accommodated per session.
