Gamelab, one of the top teams outside the professionals scene, proved it has what it takes to embrace the spotlight after winning its first three games, all in 2-0 fashion in the opening week for an early lead in the standings.

It took down MPL franchise teams RSG Ignite and Onic Arsenals and fellow amateur team Zol Esports for a 3-0 record with Jermaine “Aizawa” Fernandez and Masayuki “Yuktzy” Fujita taking turns in leading the team to a perfect start to their MDL careers.

Coming in second was the Kiel “Kielvj” Hernandez-led Omega which, likewise, remained undefeated after a 2-0 sweep of TNC Neo and pulsating 2-1 win over ZOL in their second assignment in the opening week.

ECHO Proud, Blacklist Academy, Bren Euphoria Esports, NXPE Tiger Cubs, Onic and RSG were all in the middle of the pack with identical 1-1 records.

Still needing to shake off the opening week jitters were TNC, which was winless through two games, and ZOL which came up dry in its first three games in the tournament.

MDL PH returns to action Wednesday with Gamelab gunning for its fourth win against NXPE while Omega faces up against ECHO. One between ZOL and TNC will finally pick up its first win in the tilt when they clash in the final game of Day 1 of Week 2 action.
