Fire hits house in Sampaloc, Manila


A fire hit a house where recyclable materials were stored in Sampaloc, Manila on Friday, Feb. 17.

According to the initial report of the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP), the fire started at 6 a.m. on Friday morning in a house on Mindanao St., Balic-Balic, Sampaloc, Manila.

It reached the first alarm at 6:13 a.m.

Firefighters said the blaze immediately spread throughout the first and second floors of the house where sacks full of cartons and plastics were stored.

It took firefighters almost an hour to declare the fire under control at 7 a.m.

At least 30 firetrucks responded to the fire incident before it was declared fire out at 7:15 a.m.

The BFP said no one was injured in the incident and that no other establishment was damaged.

Arson probers are still investigating the cause of the fire.
