Filipino-Japanese NPA rebel captured in Cagayan

BAGGAO, Cagayan – Police and Army forces captured a wounded Filipino-Japanese New People’s Army rebel here following an encounter on Monday, Feb. 13.

He was identified as Orion Yoshida, alias “Brown,” who was a student in prominent university on Taft Ave. in Manila.

Yoshida was a member of the Isabela Provincial Committee under “Commander Rannie.”

He was found alone during a clearing operation in Sitio Nangbaggayan, Barangay Santa Margarita.

Government troops engaged communist guerillas in an encounter in the area in which two rebels were killed and war material and subversive documents were recovered.

Police Regional Office 2 director Brig. Gen. Percival Rumbaoa urged remaining members of the NPA to return to the fold of the law.
