DPWH-Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) Reynaldo C. Alconcel reported to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan that the 6.202-kilometer alternate route fast-tracks the transportation of agricultural and commercial products from the countryside to major economic hubs in urban areas.

The four-lane thoroughfare which is considered as the longest bypass road in the region is equipped with traffic lights, light posts, lay-by areas, sidewalks, and bicycle and pedestrian lanes.

It reduces travel time between Nueva Vizcaya to Manila by 40 to 50 minutes and benefits 10,000 travelers daily.

The project funded under the Regular Infrastructure Program for Fiscal Year 2018 to 2022 involved the construction of a four-lane concrete road with a total length of 6.202 kilometers with a 13.4-meter carriageway width, 300-mm thick concrete, and road right-of-way acquisition.
