TACLOBAN CITY – Sixteen policemen and non-uniformed personnel exchanged "I dos" in a mass wedding dubbed “Kasalan sa Kampo” in Camp Francisco Asidillo, Borongan City, Eastern Samar on Valentine’s Day.
The mass wedding was an initiative of Eastern Samar police director Col. Matthew Aseo.
Aseo said it is a celebration of love and will further strengthen family ties and relationships, which, in turn, will positively affect the way a police officer carries out his or her duties and responsibilities.
He added that the Kasalan sa Kampo is the first mass wedding ceremony hosted by the Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office to promote the value of family and marriage among police officers.
The matrimonial ceremony was officiated by priests from the Diocese of Borongan together with Major Rhey Dollesin, regional pastoral officer.
Brig. Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, Eastern Visayas police chief who was one of the principal sponsors, said that being married for 26 years, he believes that the sacrament of matrimony is a blessing. “Marriage is one of the greatest gifts to God, to live in peace with God,” he said.
