Businessman survives gun attack by riding-in tandem in Tanauan City


TANAUAN CITY, Batangas -- A 42-year-old businessman was wounded during a gun attack perpetrated by an unidentified riding-in-tandem on Monday morning, Feb. 13, in Barangay Balele, this city.

The Batangas Police Provincial Office (BPOO) identified the victim as Jerry Ramirez, a resident of Brgy. Balele.

Ramirez sustained gunshot wounds in his body and is under medical treatment in a hospital in Tanauan City.

The suspects fled toward Barangay Boot.

The police report said that around 10:30 a.m., the victim was driving his pick-up truck when the suspects suddenly passed by and shot several times at him at the driver’s side window.

Probers recovered six fired cartridge cases and two deformed fired bullets.

A manhunt operation is still ongoing for the possible identification and arrest of the suspect while the motives are still under investigation, the report said.
