Angono, Rizal’s Lakeside Park offers romantic interlude this Love Month

Looking for a budget-friendly place to spend the Love Month? Search no farther as Angono’s Lakeside Park is just an hour or so away from Metro Manila.

The Art Capital of the Country’s Lakeside Park, a former dumpsite for the town’s household garbage, offers a romantic option for lovers, friends, and families to spend the Love Month in.

The office of Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon told Manila Bulletin that the lakeside park, also known among the locals as "Wawa," or the mouth of a river, offers an amazing view of the Manila Bay sunset, a perfect place for the sunset watchers especially during this month of love.

A boat ride for couples or a group of 10 persons on the Laguna Lake is offered for a minimal fee by local boatmen all day.

Park visitors can use the picnic sheds along the lakeshore for free on a first come, first served basis as they enjoy the cool breeze coming from the country’s largest freshwater lake specially during the “amihan” season (northeast monsoon).

Bikers can also use the bike lanes along the lakeside area.

There are food kiosks offering a variety of street foods, beverages, and snacks for picnic-goers.

One can also have a sip of brewed coffee by the lakeside as there is a nearby coffee shop and a kiosk offering hot and iced coffee to park visitors.

Angono’s Lakeside Park was a project of former Mayor Gerardo “Gerry” Calderon.
