Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar warned the public not to transact with unscrupulous individuals reportedly recruiting social workers for deployment abroad.
Aguilar came out with the warning after the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) was able to get a copy of fake “payment acknowledgement” using the official seal of the Las Piñas city government.
She said the recruiters identified themselves as social workers at the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and were recruiting social workers to work abroad.
The mayor said the fake “payment acknowledgement” showed that the unscrupulous individuals were able to collect a total of P360,000 from six applicants or P60,000 each.
Aguilar told the public to be on the alert as the city is not recruiting individuals to work abroad as social workers.
