QCPD nabs 22 in one-day anti-criminality ops


A total of 22 individuals were arrested in Quezon City Police District (QCPD)'s one-day anti-criminality operations in Quezon City.

Police identified the suspects as Cynthia Dela Cruz, 30, a resident of Brgy. Sampaloc, Talisay City, Batangas for qualified theft; Charmaine Joy Tating, 43; a resident of Brgy. Bago Bantay, Quezon City for violation of B.P. 22 or the Anti-Bouncing Check Law; Josephine Maximo, 44 years old, and a resident of Rodriguez, Rizal for Estafa; and Mark Hipolito, 20, a resident Brgy. Santol, Galas, Quezon City for violation of R.A. 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.

Meanwhile, at least four individuals were nabbed for illegal drugs.

Among the arrested were Mark Angelo Pascual, 18; a resident of Brgy. 153, Caloocan City; Christopher Parencio, 20, a resident of Brgy. Loyola Heights, Quezon City; Mark Ivan Ignacio, 36, a resident of Brgy. Diliman, Quezon City; and James Redaja Gabunas, 24, a resident of Brgy. Pansol, Quezon City.

The suspects will be charged for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

In the campaign against illegal gambling, a total of 14 gamblers were arrested by different police stations.

The arrested suspects were identified as Jeff De Guzman, 30, a resident of Brgy. Bahay Toro, Quezon City; Israel Trinidad, 32; and Renz Cholo Bautista, 31, both residents of Brgy. Bungad, Quezon City; Cerilo Condez, 32, a resident of Brgy. Gulod, Novaliches, Quezon City; Char Ace Cañeta, 22, a resident of Brgy. Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches, Quezon City; Gomer Cabelcoy, 49, a resident of Camarin, Caloocan City; Kennedy Yabut, 32, a resident of Brgy. Sauyo, Quezon City; Rainer Macalino, 36, and a resident of Brgy. E. Rodriguez, Quezon City, all for playing “cara y cruz.” Police also apprehended Maria Rizallete Macabuhay; 24; Ernestina Tarnate, 52; Andri Agustin, 23; Alexander Caranza, 24; and Arturo Argueza Jr, 20, all residents of Brgy. UP Campus, Quezon City for playing “color games”.

The arrested suspects will be charged for violation of P.D. 1602 (Illegal Gambling) while additional charged for violation of R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition against suspect Cabelcoy.
