Eumir Marcial stopped Ricardo Villalba in the second round to remain undefeated as a pro on Saturday, Feb. 11 (Sunday in Manila) at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
The Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist went to work early by knocking down Villalba in the opening round with a vicious body shot before sending his opponent twice on the canvas in the second round.
A powerful right hook finished Villalba before the referee stopped the match at the 48-second mark.
Showing his prowess that established him as one of the promising pro fighters to date, Marcial kept his record unscathed at 4-0 with two knockouts.
Villalba, fighting for the first time at 162 pounds, dropped to 20-8-1 including eight KOs.
The bout was part of the undercard of the Rey Vargas vs O’Shaquie Foster fight.
