Parañaque gov’t honors Covid-19 pandemic hero


The Parañaque City government named the conference hall of Ospital ng Parañaque II (OsPar2) on the 5th floor as Dr. Ephraim Neal Orteza Hall during the hospital inauguration and blessing on Friday, Feb. 10.

Mayor Eric Olivarez said writer-actress Bibeth Orteza, sister of Dr. Orteza, joined in the ribbon-cutting for the opening of the Dr. Ephraim Neil Orteza Hall.

Olivarez said Dr. Orteza, who had actively attended to Covid-19 patients at the height of the outbreak, succumbed to the same disease.

“Mahal ni Dr. Neal ang pagiging doktor (Dr. Neal love his profession as a doctor).” said Olivarez.

The mayor said Dr. Orteza, husband of her sister, Dr. Imelda Olivarez Orteza, was a good doctor and a father .

“Siya ay matuturing na isa sa mga makabagong bayani ng ating lungsod at bansa (He can be considered a hero in our city and the country),” Olivarez said.
