“We stand ready, willing, and able to help accomplish the goals that Vice President Duterte has outlined for the education sector,” Briones said in a statement issued Thursday, Feb. 9 as she congratulated the incumbent Education Secretary for being elected as the president of the SEAMEO Council (SEAMEC) and chair of the 52nd SEAMEO Council Conference.

Briones, who currently serves as the SEAMEO INNOTECH Centre Director, extended her “warmest congratulations and utmost best wishes” to Duterte and expressed her full support for her new post as the SEAMEC President.

INNOTECH, Briones said, is “immensely proud” of the direction that Duterte is taking in “achieving great strides in improving numerous aspects of education.”

“In her recent Basic Education Report, we saw the identified challenges she has committed to address in her administration,” Briones said.
