Manila Archbishop Cardinal Jose Advincula appointed former Manila Cathedral rector Fr. Reginald Malicdem as vicar general of the Archdiocese of Manila.
Based on the archdiocese circular no. 2023-16, Malicdem was also designated as vice moderator curiae of the Archdiocese of Manila.
“As Vicar General, Fr. Malicdem will assist the Archbishop in the governance of the archdiocese,” the circular stated.
“As Vice Moderator Curiae, together with the Moderator Curiae, he ‘under the authority of the bishop, is to coordinate those things which pertain to the treatment of administrative affairs and to take care that the other members of the curia properly fulfill the office entrusted to them’,” it added.
Malicdem will join Rev. Msgr. Jose Clemente Ignacio as vicar general of the archdiocese. Meanwhile, Ignacio also serves as the Moderator Curiae of the Archdiocese of Manila.
Malicdem will officially take his new role on Feb. 15, 2023.
“Let us pray for Fr. Malicdem as he takes on his new mission,” the circular stated.
