ILOILO CITY – Police arrested a couple and seized suspected shabu worth P1.7 million in a buy-bust operation in Roxas City, Capiz on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
The Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 identified the suspects as Dennis Benitez, 48, and his 22-year-old live-in partner Jurelyn Basa.
Suspects were apprehended after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in Barangay Lawaan.
The couple yielded 16 sachets of shabu weighing 250 grams.
Benitez was arrested in an anti-drug operation but was released in 2021 after a plea bargain agreement.
Police found out in a month-long surveillance that the suspects were able to sell around a kilo of shabu per week in Roxas City.
Suspects face drug-related charges.
