Nograles attends global government summit in Singapore


Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Nograles took part in the recent Global Government Summit (GGS), meeting with global senior government officials in the event held in Singapore.

According to CSC, the two-day event, hosted by the Singapore government and organized by the Global Government Forum from Feb. 1 to 2, explored the challenges now facing civil service around the globe.

It added that the event was attended by delegates holding roles including the Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, State Secretary, Cabinet Secretary, Clerk of the Privy Council, Head of the Civil Service, and Civil Service Chief Executive.

The GGS provides a confidential and informal space for participants to freely discuss views, experiences, successes, and failures, as well as explore potential solutions, to the challenges faced by civil service.

Nograles had a bilateral meeting with Singapore's Head of Civil Service Leo Yip, last Wednesday, Feb. 1, where they discussed the functions and mandates of their respective agencies.

Nograles and Yip also discussed other possible opportunities for collaboration between Singapore and the Philippines, especially in the areas of digitization and digitalization.
