Muntinlupa police arrest 49 wanted persons; seize P551,000 illegal drugs in January 


The Muntinlupa police arrested 49 wanted persons, confiscated nearly P551,000 worth of illegal drugs and recorded 10 incidents of major crimes in January.

According to the report, from Jan. 1 to 25 this year, the Muntinlupa police recorded 10 incidents of major crimes, down from 12 incidents tallied during the same period last year.

Of the 10, there were three murders, three rape cases, two thefts, and one each for homicide and carnapping.

A total of nine persons were also arrested for loose firearms. On illegal gambling, 13 operations were conducted by the police, resulting in the arrest of 44 persons and the confiscation of P10,440.

The police also arrested 49 wanted persons consisting of three top 10 most wanted persons, 22 most wanted persons, and 24 wanted persons.

Included in the report is the arrest of German vlogger "Mr. Pogi German" (real name: Marcel Messall) who has been charged for violation of Republic Act 8353 or the New Anti-Rape Law.

For violation of various ordinances, the Muntinlupa police apprehended 3,756 persons consisting of 797 for curfew violations; 1,381 persons for being half-naked in public; and 1,578 for smoking.

A total of 78.85 grams of shabu worth P536,180 and 120 grams of marijuana worth P14,400 were also confiscated in 43 police operations last month.

"The decreasing number of crime incidence within Muntinlupa can be attributed to the intensified weekly focused police operations; the conduct of simultaneous checkpoint operation from 2:00 AM – 4:00 AM in specific areas and intelligence-driven operations; sustained deployment of personnel to established Police Security Outposts in areas of convergence; constant motorcycle and mobile patrolling; the creation of the Focus Team per Sub-Station; sustained target hardening measures; and other police-initiated interventions to immediately address criminality within the city which have been conducted by the Muntinlupa CPS ,” according to Garcillano.
