Woman arrested over ‘bouncing checks' in Taguig


A woman facing charges for alleged violation of the Bouncing Checks Law was arrested by police in Taguig City.

Taguig police identified the suspect as Mikaela Veronica Cabrera, 26, who was arrested at about 6:38 p.m. on Feb. 3 at a condominium in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

Cabrera was nabbed by Taguig Police Substation 1 operatives based on a warrant of arrest issued by Presiding Judge Clemente Mogueis Clemente of the Makati Municipal Trial Court (MTC) Branch 127.

The warrant of arrest was issued based on a criminal case filed against Cabrera for alleged violation of Batas Pambansa Blg. 22, also known as the Bouncing Checks Law.

On Facebook, there is a page titled “Mikaela Veronica Sese Cabrera A Scammer,” which described her as “founder of Auma fashion styling firm.”

The Facebook page claimed that “she will get your money by lying and will never pay it back.”
