In a statement on Tuesday, Jan. 31, MTRCB said that A&Q Entertainment and Prime Stream Inc. allowed the showing of the movie at a mall in Quezon City without a Permit to Exhibit from the regulatory board.

Uniprom Inc. also received the notice for exhibiting Mang Kano without the same permit.

Both streaming companies have violated Section 1, Chapter V of PD No. 1986 as well as its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) in relation to Section 3 of PD No. 1986, MTRCB said.

These entities have also violated Section 5, Chapter V of the same IIR, it added.

MTRCB also summoned Cignal TV Inc. (One PH) for showing Mang Kanor video excerpts that feature explicit content such as "torrid kissing, apparent nudity, threesomes, and sexual intercourse."

This has violated Section 2, Chapter IV of PD No. 1986 and its IRR, MTRCB added.

"The Board reiterates that as businesses engaged in the provision of motion picture content to Filipino viewers, they carry a civic and moral obligation to comply with the law. To this end, MTRCB shall uphold its mandate to provide a safe-viewing experience for all Filipinos," MTRCB said.
