The Land Transportation Office-(LTO) has opened a new licensing office in Lawton, Manila in a bid to cater to growing number of people seeking new and seeking renewal of their driver's license.
LTO chief Jose Arturo M. Tugade said the Manila South Licensing Section will be of big help to the local residents, employees and other people who frequently go to the area for work and other purposes.
In his speech during the opening, Tugade tasked LTO-National Capital Region-West director Roque I. Verzosa to ensure that the new licensing center would be free of corruption and fixers.
The Manila South Licensing Section is located at the 2nd Floor, Annex 2 Building, Philpost Compound in Lawton,
For his part, Verzosa said the licensing section is a one-stop shop where one can process their driver's license.
"The opening of the Manila South Licensing Section will bring LTO services closer to the people, which is one of the priorities of this administration," Verzosa said.
Verzosa, who oversaw the opening of several licensing centers in the region since assuming the post as acting regional director of LTO-NCR-West in October of last year, previously stated that the LTO has been urged not just to strengthen the policy of the issuance of driver's licenses to improve the quality of driver education but also to ensure that driver's licenses are issued only to deserving applicants with sufficient driving skills and knowledge of road safety and proper road courtesy.
He stressed that the licensing center is probably one of the best projects so far at NCR.
The new licensing section, according to Verzosa, is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the following services:
1.) Application for New/Renewal of Student Permit
2.) Application for a Non-Professional License
3.) Application for Professional License
4.) Renewal of Driver’s License (Non-Professional and Professional)
5.) Revision of Records for Driver’s License
