House Committee on Overseas Workers Affairs Chairman Kabayan Party-list Rep. Ron Salo accompanied the family of Jullebee Ranara in claiming the overseas Filipino worker's (OFW) remains upon its arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Friday night, Jan. 27.
Ranara was a 35-year-old domestic helper who worked in Kuwait. Last weekend, her lifeless body was found in a desert. The cadaver was reportedly burned.
Salo shared on Facebook on Saturday morning, Jan. 28 photos of the arrival of Ranara’s coffin at the airport. The anguish of the relatives can be seen as they welcomed Ranara home.
Senator Raffy Tulfo, Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Sec. Toots Ople, and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Administrator Arnel Ignacio were also on hand.
The son of Ranara’s employer in Kuwait is the main suspect in the brutal killing.
