Cops extend educational assistance to deserving students in Mt. Province

BONTOC, Mt. Province -- As part of their ‘Education Enhancement Program,’ the police officers of 2nd Mountain Province Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) handed over P2,000 each to four students for their educational assistance.

Education Enhancement Program or EEP is an initiative of Mountain Province PMFC that aims to provide educational assistance to selected high school students who are facing financial challenges.

The program also aims to put children in school and to prevent them from being recruited by the Communist Terrorist Group.

The scholars are selected upon recommendation of the officials of the barangay where they are residing and faculty members or teachers of the school where they are currently enrolled.

The fund being used for the program is from the voluntary contribution of the police officers.

For January 2023, five beneficiaries from the towns of Bontoc, Bauko, and Natonin were given financial assistance.

The program that is now in its 9th year has helped a total of 29 students since it started in 2014.
