6 online sellers of stolen RTW items arrested in Pasay City

Six online sellers of stolen ready-to-wear (RTW) items were arrested in a police entrapment operation in Pasay City on Monday night, Jan. 23.

Col. Froilan Uy, city police chief, identified the suspects as Paula Sarah Khan, 35; Hasnoden Baguan, 43; Hannah Mae Moraca, 24, sales agent; Najib Paniorutan, 22, online seller; Abdari Abdul, 20, helper; and Geraldine Alzona, 20.

Uy said the suspects were arrested around 11:30 p.m. in an apartment in Barangay 183, Villamor Pasay City.

The city police chief said members of the Station Investigation and Detective Management Section (SIDMS) planned an entrapment operation after a complaint was filed by Kowsar Abdul, 59, a Bangladeshi.

Abdul told police that his RTW items that were stolen on Jan.18 from his warehouse on Pedro Gil St. in Manila were seen by his employee, Jennifer, 33, being sold online.

Uy said Jennifer contacted the seller and arranged for a meet-up, resulting in the arrest of the suspect.

Police recovered from the suspects 15 boxes of stolen RTW items amounting to P148,500.

The arrested suspects were detained at the police custodial facility and charged for violation of the Anti-Fencing Law.
