23-year-old man found dead in Tondo, Manila


A 23-year-old man was found dead in Barangay 128, Tondo, Manila at dawn on Sunday, Jan. 22.

The victim was identified as Adrian Shane Ochangco, 23, a resident of Riverside Vitas Katuparan, Brgy. 101, Tondo, Manila.

According to the Manila Police District (MPD), witnesses Gregorio Siervo, a security guard on duty at Petron Gasoline Station, and Jaymar Herrera, a car wash boy, said they heard three consecutive gunshots and later found the victim lying beside the highway along Mel Lopez Boulevard Northbound, Brgy. 128, Tondo, Manila at 4:10 a.m.

The victim has three bullet wounds in the back, police said.

MPD only identified the suspect as alias "Emeng," also a resident of Brgy. 101.

It said that the suspect has a cohort who remains unidentified as of writing.

Based on the initial investigation, the victim was last seen alive at the birthday celebration of his aunt in Barangay 101 at around 2 a.m. on the same day.

Police said the suspect had been threatening the victim that he will kill him.

The suspect was previously apprehended for illegal gambling and illegal drug possession, it added.

Authorities are still investigating the incident.
