Drug suspect nabbed while getting police clearance in Zamboanga City


ZAMBOANGA CITY (PNA) – A 30-year-old man was arrested while securing police clearance for employment here on Friday, Jan. 20.

Lt. Col. Felix Martinez, 1st Zamboanga City Mobile Force Company (1ZCMFC) commander, said Argal Kasim Amirul was arrested at around 2:32 p.m. at the clearance section of the 1ZCMFC in Barangay Santa Barbara.

Martinez said Amirul was arrested after they discovered he has a standing warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The warrant was issued by a local court on Sept. 21, 2022, based on three drug charges filed against him, including a non-bailable one.

Martinez said Amirul was placed under the custody of the Zamboanga City Police Office before turnover to the court on Monday, Jan. 23.
