AOMG artists bring the house down at Manila show: ‘Can Tokyo top this?’


Six Korean artists from the AOMG label dazzled the audience in their first Manila show.

The “AOMG World Tour 2023: Follow the Movement” in Manila was held on Jan. 15 at the New Frontier Theater.

It featured rappers Gray, Simon Dominic and Loco, female artist Lee Hi and GOT7 member Yugyeom with Woo as the opening act.

For four hours, the artists performed hip-hop, R&B and rap to the delight of the audience.

Rapper Woo opened the AOMG show with “R.I.P” followed by “"Chik Chik Pok Pok Freestyle," “Pop It,” “Chingiz Khan" “Devil” and “Me.”

After more than six years, Lee Hi returned to Manila to perform. In September 2016, she held her “2016 Lee Hi Seoulite Showcase in Manila.”

Lee Hi started her set with “Only” and “Breathe.” She also performed “Savior,” “Rose,” “Head Shoulder Knee Toe,” “No One is Here, “1, 2, 3, 4” and “Red Lipstick.”

Rapper Loco followed next. He sang “Sweaty,” “MBTI,” Party Band,” “Oppa,” “Too Much,” “Don’t,” “Say Yes,” “It Takes Time,” “Like Water,” “Boss and “No Manners.”

Gray was next. He sang “Dream Chaser,” “Show Window,” “TMI,” “Summer Night,” “Make Love,” “Moon Blue,” “Baby Don’t Cry,” “Lose Control,” “Stay the Night,” “U,” “Just Do It” and “Late Night.”

Yugyeom came back to Manila after holding a show last August. At the AOMG show, he performed “I Want U Around,” “Take You Down,” “Lights,” “All About U,” “Running Through the Rain,” “All Your Fault,” “Chingiz Khan,” “Love Your Way” and “Pony Tail.”

Simon Dominic was the last performer in the show. He performed “DAX4,” “Room Type,” “Pose!,” “Ya Ain’t Gang,” “GOTT,” “I’MMA Do,” “Wifey,” “Go,” “Baddest Nice Guys,” “No Thanxxx,” “At Night,” “Make Her Dance,” “Mommae” and “Comfortable.”

All the artists converged on stage to close the show. They sang “119,” “Upside Down,” “TTFU,” “Party for the Night,” “On Air,” “We Are” and “Who You?”

The performers were very impressed not only with the crowd turnout but with their reactions throughout the show.

“Mahal kita, Manila and pogi ako (I love you, Manila and I’m handsome),” Simon Dominic posted on Instagram after the show.

Lee Hi wrote on Instagram, “OMG!! Philippines!! Tonight u guys are really amazing!! I felt that you guys are our real fans! I'll remember today for a long time.I think we must meet again soon!! Thank u for showing us much love. XOXO.”
