Two pranksters in Davao de Oro arrested

DAVAO CITY – Police arrested two vloggers after they pranked an attendant of a gasoline station in Mawab town in Davao de Oro on Wednesday for their online content.

In a report released on Thursday, Jan. 19, the personnel of the Mawab Police Station arrested Jonel C. Cordero and his accomplice Arnold O. Rabi for pulling a trick that caused alarm to the workers of the gas station located along the National Highway in Barangay Poblacion.

Police said Cordero went to the station to buy P10 worth of gasoline.

Cordero had the attendant fill an empty bottle of Coke Sakto and pretended to drink it.

Cordero acted as if he was feeling dizzy and nauseous.

The alarmed workers immediately reported the incident to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to provide first aid.

Cordero continued acting even after the MDRRMO personnel arrived.

When responders were about to perform a medical assessment, Cordero revealed that he and Rabi were only pulling a prank.

Cordero said he only drank an energy drink, not gasoline.

The police authorities appealed to the public to avoid pranks that would cause ‘chaos, alarm and disturbance’ and disrupt the operations of the responding government agencies.

The two are now facing charges of ‘alarm and scandal’ under Article 155 of the Revised Penal Code.
