Two years after the launch of Vivamax, executives of Viva Films revealed the reigning box-office queens of the No. 1 Pinoy streaming platform.

"In terms of numbers, naglalaban sila Angeli (Khang) and AJ (Raval)," said Vincent del Rosario, COO and President of Viva Films, when asked about the real box-office queen of Vivamax, during the launch of VivaPrime streaming platform held in Quezon City last Thursday night.

AJ, 22, was introduced in the Vivamax comedy movie "Paglaki Ko, Gusto Kong Maging Porn Star" while Angeli, 21, debuted in the psychological thriller "Taya." Angeli and AJ were also part of the VMX Crush which means Viva’s MaXimum Crush.

Asked about the king of Vivamax, Del Rosario said: "Wala tayong Vivamax king." (We don't have a Vivamax king.)

Vivamax was launched last Jan. 29, 2021 to fulfill the dream of Boss Vic del Rosario of bringing entertainment directly to Filipinos here and abroad which they can enjoy anytime, anywhere.

Exactly two years after the launch of Vivamax, another streaming platform kicks off under the banner of VivaPrime. The edgiest and the newest streaming platform in the Philippines will be available for streaming worldwide beginning Jan. 29.

"VivaPrime will be available for only P49 or enjoy it ads free for just P99 a month. VivaPrime has positioned itself to be the most affordable quality entertainment that is proudly Filipino," said Del Rosario.

An AVOD model, or simply a streaming site that allows you to watch with or without the ads, therefore bringing the cost of subscription down courtesy of advertisers.

It was not so long ago when the pandemic hit and no one was making movies, but Boss Vic never stopped producing. Even through the toughest of times, his purpose to bring premium entertainment to everyone survives.

"With the presence of VivaPrime, Vivamax will be edgier and risquey. VivaPrime will become a streaming platform for all," said Valerie del Rosario, SVP for Content Creation and Development of TV Production and Creative Research, on the distinction between Vivamax and VivaPrime.

Behind streaming giants that dominated the market both foreign and locally, in just two years, the mostly adult entertainment platform found its niche and finally brought in subscribers from all over the globe.

Vivamax boasts of having close to six million registered subscribers worldwide with a strong presence in more than 82 territories.

It also racked up millions of views on the platform on the strength of a veritable treasure trove of Viva library titles of both local and Korean movies as well as a formidable line-up of Hollywood blockbusters added regularly, and the premiering of one new Vivamax Exclusive every week.

Aside from AJ and Angeli, Vivamax launched the careers of Ayanna Misola, Christine Bermas, Janelle Tee, Azi Acosta, Angela Morena, Ava Mendez and Frankie Russel just to name a few.

For loyal VivaPrime fans there will be consistent programming of one new movie every week and one solid series weekly for the loyal subscribers of VivaPrime.

Also, they will get to watch new movies every Friday and the series every Sunday. For 2023, Viva Prime is expected to produce more than 70 new titles.

On the future of Vivamax, Del Rosario: "I guess we're here to stay in the years to come. We have assembled a great team, especially the unsung heroes of Vivamax. We are happy and we hope in the next few years, may isang Filipino streaming app na mare-recognize sa ibang bansa hindi dahil sa mga Pilipino lang kundi pati na rin sa mainstream market."
